Cliffside Park, New Jersey — The Albanian-American Association of Law Enforcement (AALEA) has successfully organized a fundraising campaign to support the family of Officer Nevruz Cenalia, who was tragically killed in Albania on May 13, 2024.

The campaign, which received overwhelming support from the Albanian community across the United States, aimed to provide financial assistance to Officer Cenalia’s family, helping them cope with the sudden loss of a devoted husband and father, while also raising awareness of this tragic event.
At a ceremony held in New Jersey on July 11, 2024, AALEA representatives officially handed over the funds, received in the name of Officer Cenalia’s family, to their representatives.
“The support we’ve received from our community has been incredibly touching. It’s a testament to our collective spirit and commitment to helping one another in times of need,” said Elton Shametaj, founder and chairman of AALEA. “While no contribution can replace what Officer Cenalia’s family has lost, this support serves as a reminder that we stand together in solidarity.”
This successful campaign underscores the strength and unity of the Albanian-American community in supporting the family of a fallen officer abroad.
AALEA has a long-standing history of mobilizing resources for families of officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice, demonstrating its unwavering commitment to service, solidarity, and community support.
