In a historic gathering that celebrated courage, service, and heritage, the American Albanian Law Enforcement Association (AALEA) hosted its annual Gala Night 2025, uniting Albanian-American law enforcement officers from across the United States and Canada. Members from 16 states and Canada, alongside executives from federal, state, and city law enforcement agencies, came together to honor the community’s finest leaders and reaffirm a shared commitment to honor, integrity, and patriotism.
The evening recognized extraordinary achievements. Assistant U.S. Attorney Fatime Meka Cano of the Economic Crimes Unit in Newark was named Visionary Woman of the Year for her exceptional leadership in prosecuting complex economic crimes, strengthening public trust, and inspiring the next generation of Albanian-American professionals.
AALEA also presented the Excellence in Service Award to Assistant Special Agent in Charge Anastas Ndrenika of the DEA, whose distinguished career exemplifies courage, leadership, and professionalism, serving as a beacon of pride for the Albanian-American community.
The National Community Award, “Two Flags, One Heart,” was awarded to Fotini Allteni Kokeri, a true ambassador of peace and hope. Through her tireless work supporting hospitals, providing medication, and aiding those in need, she embodies the compassion, dedication, and unity of Albanian-Americans worldwide.
AALEA expressed gratitude to Ambassador Suela Janina, Head of Mission Blerim Reka, and the staff of the Consulate General of Kosovo in New York City for their support in promoting initiatives that preserve Albanian language, culture, and heritage for future generations.
Gala Night 2025 celebrated more than awards—it reaffirmed the Albanian-American law enforcement community’s commitment to serve both country and homeland under two flags, one heart.
