In a heartfelt gesture of support, Erald Krisafi, Vice President of the American-Albanian Law Enforcement Association (AALEA), presented a $10,000 check to Resmi Hasanpapa, a former Albanian Traffic Police officer who was injured in the line of duty. The donation, made at the Tirana Regional Traffic Police Commissariat, signifies AALEA’s deep appreciation for Hasanpapa’s service and sacrifice.
Back in 2004, Hasanpapa and his colleague Allaman Dervishi were shot by two citizens while on duty. Tragically, Officer Dervishi lost his life, and Hasanpapa sustained a severe leg injury. Despite his disability, Hasanpapa’s dedication to serving as a police officer never wavered.
Besmir Qibini, Chief of the Regional Traffic Police Commissariat, praised Hasanpapa’s unwavering commitment to his duties despite the challenges he faced. Since 2016, Hasanpapa has continued to contribute voluntarily to the Tirana Regional Traffic Police Commissariat, demonstrating his resilience and dedication.
Speaking on behalf of AALEA, Krisafi emphasized the association’s ongoing commitment to supporting police officers in need. The donation, presented on behalf of AALEA Chairman Elton Shametaj, serves as a testament to the organization’s unwavering support for law enforcement professionals.
Expressing his gratitude, Hasanpapa thanked AALEA for their generosity and recognition of his service. He also extended his thanks to the General Director of the State Police for his attention to injured officers and their families, highlighting the importance of support within the law enforcement community.
AALEA extends its appreciation to all its members, the community, and supporters whose contributions made this donation possible. The organization remains dedicated to supporting police officers and their families during times of need.
